Taxi Scams

BEWARE OF DRIVERS WHO tell you THEIR meter is broken IN ORDER TO inflate THE price OF your ride.

Also beware of drivers who "get lost" AND drive around for extra miles.

If someone approaches you saying you dropped something, it’s best to keep it moving, especially if you’re 100% sure the item isn’t yours. 

Chances are they're trying to scam you into PAYING A "REWARD."

Jet Ski And Scooter Scam 

if you rent a jet ski or scooter at the beach, take photos with a timestamp for proof OF ANY DAMAGE. 

YOU'LL AVOID vendorS SCAMMING YOU OUT OF A SECURITY DEPOSIT BY TELLING YOU THE VEHICLE IS DAMAGED UPON RETURN. 

A Closed Accommodation

 another taxi driver SCAM — the driver will tell you the hotel or hostel you’re heading to is closed even though it’s not.

Don’t fall for this, tell them that you still want to go to the location.
