Meet the Black Teen Genius With an IQ Higher Than Bill Gates and Albert Einstein
British teenager Ramarni Wilfred aced his IQ test.
According to BBC, Wilfred scored higher than scientist Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, and physicist Stephen Hawking at age 11.
By achieving a 162, the young student, who studies at a comprehensive school in east London, is considered a genius and the smartest boy in England’s capital.
Signs of his exceptional brilliance appeared when he was a child. In pre-school, Wilfred was able to read and write, and at 10, he wrote a justice theory paper that won him prestigious honors.
It’s that excellence that caught the attention of MENSA, a high IQ society that welcomes people from every walk of life whose IQ is in the top 2% of the population.
“I always remember driving him to the nursery and he was telling me about something he’d seen on the news, and it was a very political subject,” his mom, Anthea Wilfred, told BBC.
“Later on that afternoon, I saw the optic on the TV and I thought, my two-and-a-half-year-old has just been talking to me about this in the car. It was just bizarre.”
Though he remains an anomaly compared to most teens his age, his interests are pretty typical, as he enjoys playing with his dog, watching the Disney Channel, and reading comic books.
“It’s probably in place of me not knowing something, and from the ignorance is a desire to understand it, to know it,” he told BBC.
“It’s just about finding your thing and finding what you are very interested in, what makes you excited, what you actually want to learn about.”
